Praise Of The Experiential Creations Workshops

I have been a practicing LCSW for almost 20 years, and I am an Associate Professor of Social Work at Texas State University. I have been attending AEE conferences since the mid-1990’s. Never have I attended a workshop that was so grounded in theory and best practices yet maintained a multi-modal, experiential frame throughout the entire workshop. Kim created an experience for participants, not just a didactic workshop, which engaged all of us kinesthetically on cognitive, affective and somatic levels. I was humbled by the experience, and feel that I will be a better social worker and social educator because of it.

Kim is truly one of the pioneers of this field and I cannot say enough how blown away I am every time I watch him work. He is my mentor, hero, friend, and colleague.

I observed around 25-30 conference attendees in the workshop and participants were actively engaged with the creative props (large beach ball, balloons, markers and signs to name a few). The props were used to help the participants individualize their experience and to balance their personal and professional stories as they explored the concept of change. Kim always brings new and different ways of providing experiential education to the annual AEE Conference.

This is Kim! He is the most creative person I have ever met! He is great at engaging others in the work that needs doing! He is amazing at honoring the work of many! And he does this in the shadows, where he seems the most content.
